GSCF was founded in 1991 as a business unit of a multinational food distributor. After the successful implementation of an accounts payable centralization structure for the group, the company was spun-off to become an independent supply chain finance structurer and servicer owned by the management. Soon after the spin-off further accounts payable based programs could be implemented. In the early days these structures required significant manual processing.

The development of ever more advanced IT systems and electronic communication means led GSCF to more and more automate its processes. These efforts culminated in the first release of its proprietary software, the company’s processing and reporting platform in 1997. Over time, GSCF rendered its services to large multinational buying groups in industries such as food distribution, building materials and outdoor apparel.

The year 2002 brought significant change to GSCF’s business model. In that year, with the release of a proprietary credit sensitized processing software, GSCF launched its first accounts receivable based distribution finance model with a global IT manufacturer with buyers in over 50 countries. Since, receivables based programs have become the core business of GSCF with coverage in over 70 countries now.

2008 sets the foundation for continued growth. With the launch of its new software, GSCF further delivers on its promise to customize each program to the client’s needs. New functionalities in processing, display and reporting constitute another leap forward putting the company in a strong position to service the next wave of supply chain finance programs in cooperation with its funding and credit insurance partners.
